In collaboration with NICOLAS WATKINS & CHRISTY PURCELLA
The prompt for the analog light box was to design and build a minimum 1' x 1' x 1' apparatus that demonstrated an effect of light. Our interpretation of the box maintains beams of light as the constant, while the spatial potentials and layers of depth are the variable. The box is manually-operated by encased LED strips that run on tracks whose resultant beams are shone through slits cut in panels that form the interior funnel. The video above is a documentation of the box's visual outputs.
This project was a collaborative effort with Nicolas R. Watkins and Christy Purcella under the instruction of Bennett Neiman at the College of Architecture at Texas Tech University.
